Concept2 activity recording
Bob Keown
Yesterday I completed a Concept2 workout of the day (WOD). Upon reviewing my activities in Sonar, I see two reporting activities recorded - one for 19 minutes with heart rate data recorded and showing that it was tracked with ErgData, the other one for just 13 minutes with no heart rate data and tracked via Concept2. Should I uncheck Concept2 to prevent double reporting?

So I re-checked the syncing of Concept2 and the exercise reappeared in my workouts. I did a single exercise that consisted of 6, 500m intervals with a 1 minute rest in between intervals. The exercise that was reported as "Tracked by Concept2" only shows 13 minutes for the workout and also does not provide any heart rate recovery data. The exact same exercise, which shows that it was "Tracked by ErgData" shows the total time for the exercise was 19 minutes (instead of 13 minutes) and provides the heart rate recovery data. The information for both workouts is technically correct, but should not have been reported as two separate workouts.

Thank you, deleting Concept2 did the trick. Not sure why the consolidation didnt occur. Also not sur why the Concept2 was only registering 13 minutes while the ErgData was showing 19 minutes for the exact same workout.

Bob Keown: Yea ultimately Sonar is beholden to what each provider sends, and some are more accurate than others. Would you mind telling me which stats were the correct ones, and we'll have one of the engineers investigate further, and report to Ergdata or Concept2 if necessary?

if the same workout ends up being tracked by more than one data source, Sonar should automatically de-duplicate based on the workout prioritization you set on the Profile tab (Personalize > Data Sources > Activity > Workouts).
For de-duplication to come into play though, it relies on the workouts having some degree of overlap in timestamps. If these two workouts had some timestamp overlap, we can have one of the engineers take a look to understand why de-duplication didn't occur.
More specific to your situation though: if Concept2 is not providing HR data, and you're getting what you need from ErgData, then yes the recommendation would be to disable Concept2 as a workout data source.
