Yea it's a good flag. The short answer here is that the Distance you see on the Workouts screen includes distance from all of your workouts (cycling, swimming, running etc.)
The Distance on the deep-dive screen you attached is purely your walking + running distance, recorded by your Apple Watch.
We have some thoughts on how to reduce the confusion there. Perhaps when you tap on "Distance" on the workout screen, instead of getting redirected to the deep-dive screen, we can auto-scroll the Workout chart to Distance. What do you think?

Byron me personally my main workout activity would be cycling for example. When you click on Workout>Distance to deep dive into metrics, you could have the ability to have custom fields (maybe this is setup in the background of app preferences) and you can then choose sub fields such as the distance depending on your selection. Such as cycling, walking, hiking etc. I’m not interested in steps or calories so I’d turn these off.
